The Orioles have made a lot of transactions recently within the farm system. Here is a brief overview of the moves that each of the four affiliates have made recently.

Rehab Assignment

The AAA Norfolk Tides have sent infielder Nick Maton (unknown injury) on a rehab assignment to the A+ Aberdeen Ironbirds, where he will spend the week getting himself back in the swing of things. Maton was batting .368 with Norfolk before landing on the IL. He is a 3-year big leaguer with stints with the Phillies and Tigers, and he was a waiver claim of the Orioles during Spring Training.

Promotions

The Orioles have moved the following players to new teams via a promotion.

Weston is the most notable promotion. The right-hander was absolutely dominating in A ball prior to his promotion. In 16.2 innings for Aberdeen, he only allowed one run (0.54 ERA) while striking out 19 batters and posting a 0.84 WHIP. He already has a scoreless 4-inning relief appearance under his belt for the Bowie Baysox.

Higgins was swinging a hot stick as Weston's teammate. He was batting .279 with 8 RBI and a .737 OPS. In a Bowie infield that is struggling with the bats, Higgins will look to bring a little fire in the Baysox lineup as they look to shuffle some things around in the infield thanks to Higgins' arrival.

Injuries

The following players have landed on the Minor League injured list. All injuries are unknown.

Bradfield, the Orioles' first round pick in 2023, was rumored to have landed on the IL after a hit by pitch in the Wilmington series finale. He remains on the IL but should be activated soon. Bradfield is batting .234 this season and has already stolen 9 bases.

The Shorebirds have been strugging to hit so far this season. Though Acevedo only has a .217 batting average, he has still been one of Delmarva's hottest hitters as of late. A young, strong outfielder who brings provides some pop, it stinks for Delmarva to lose him right now as he is one of their bright spots in an otherwise slumping offense.
